Nattokinase is an enzyme that is extracted from a popular Japanese food called natto. Natto is made from soaking boiled soybeans in bacterium known as Bacillus natto. However, it is not found soy foods since it is only produced through a fermentation process used in making natto. The supplement Nattokinase is purified from natto and it is made into tablets and capsules that are available in health food stores and online. The tablets and capsules are very different from the food because they do not have a strong smell and taste.Nattokinase is believed to help in dissolving blood clots which reduces the chances of one getting diseases such as stroke, heart ailments and many more. Research has however not been done to verify ascertain whether it helps in getting rid of blood clots. It can lower blood pressure as well. This supplement cannot be used by everyone especially those who are taking medication for blood clotting.
